Chinese officials led by the Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, General-Colonel Goh Bosyunom, arrived in Russia on Monday to discuss the questions of military-technical cooperation (MTC) with the Russians, as stated in the report of the Ministry of Defense, received by the RIA Novosti.
“The main purpose of the visit – participation in the 14-th session of the Russian-Chinese inter-governmental commission on military cooperation, to discuss prospects of development and strengthening of relations between the defense ministries of both countries,” – said in a statement.
According to Russian military establishment, during the visit the Chinese delegation will visit one of the units, reformed in accordance with the new image of the armed forces. In addition, at Kapustin Yar in the Astrakhan region Chinese officials will show the promising examples of weapons.
Expansion and deepening of the military and military-technical cooperation between Russia and China is based on the Agreement between the Governments of Russia and China on military-technical cooperation of 24 November 1992.
