Chinese scientists have demonstrated a wireless network, built using LEDs. The technology was developed by the Institute of research in the field of semiconductors of Chinese Academy of Sciences, says the resource “Engadget” referring to the newspaper “The Beijing Times”.
Bandwidth connections for data transmission on the laptop was two megabits per second. The frequency of blinking of LEDs will not be visible to human eye, which would be perceived as sending the data LED is constantly working.
As the transmitters the ceiling LEDs were used, which can also serve to illuminate the premises. According to the developers of the technology, it will create a wireless network to manage devices of “smart home”.
At this stage, LED network is not intended to replace Wi-Fi or Bluetooth-connection. In this LED network will work in line of sight and the signal will not penetrate the walls.
